Mary Ann Dougherty joined the firm on Oct. 1, 2020, but Mary Ann is no stranger to the area. Mary Ann was born and raised in Northern Virginia and knew she wanted to be an accountant when she took her first accounting class as a junior at McLean High School. From there, she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Virginia Tech and then a master’s degree in taxation at American University.
Mary Ann is a licensed CPA who was named a Washingtonian Top Financial Adviser, Tax Account, for 2019 and 2021. She works with individuals and their privately owned businesses as well as doing estate planning and business succession planning. Her consulting services include: choice of business entity, multistate tax issues, establishment of retirement plans and tax authority representation.
Mary Ann does C corporate, S corporate, partnership, limited liability, individual and fiduciary income tax returns.
